Complete Renovation of Single Family Residence for the University of Virginia Foundation

Completed in early May 2007, this exacting renovation of the interior and exterior included all new HVAC, electrical services, and handicap accessibility measures for future use as a home for a College Dean and a gathering place for professors and students.

As onsite supervisor, I worked with the owner and architect to determine the scope of work, vetted and managed trade contractors skilled in this type of renovation, and maintained strict quality control. The total cost of the project was approximately $1 million. Working with our mechanical and electrical designers, we were able to introduce new systems throughout this house without the construction of a single chase or soffit in an obvious location. The original look and character was preserved while bringing each system into the modern world. The Foundation has identified this project as one of the most successful residential renovations they have recently undertaken.
